The car not being that old at the time, knowledge of that stuff wasn't wide spread. There was a lot of that going on in the 80's with all kinds of cars. COPO camaros were little known then. Even today there are still people that think all 69 Z's are supposed to have a cowl hood and spoilers. Took a lot of years to understand most of these cars and some of the ways they were built, and honestly there is still some learning to do.
