The idle increase is likely due to the Ram Air cleaner base interfering with the throttle linkage, possibly because the 1969 base lacks the clearance bump present in the 1970 design. Test for interference by placing the base on without the lid and operating the throttle. If interference is confirmed, consider modifying the base or using a spacer for clearance. scary teacher 3D
