A body rear coilovers - angled or vertical
Putting coilovers in the rear of my 70 GTO. It sees the street as well as the track. Runs low 10s.
Is there an advantage to mounting the coilovers to be vertical vs angled like the stock shocks? Stock mounting of shocks is about 20 degrees angled in at the top. The Moser rear already has nice brackets for coilovers but they are outboard on the rear creating that angle if I use them. I get that you must account for the angle when choosing springs. At 20 degrees a 150lb/in requirement means you need a 175lb spring. Beyond that, what is the advantage to vertical?
