They had owners info and warranty and have car info, I believe. I have only seen one. People like to have them for documentation. I think they may have come along with owners manuals. I think the one I saw was metal. About the size of a credit card. They have raised writing on them, kind of like the old manual type credit card machines have raised writing at stores to imprint dealers name, etc. Someone chime in if they can describe better.

The one I saw was kind of funny the owner was showing it to me trying to show authenticity of his 1968 Chevelle conv 396/375 hp . I looked the numbers up in a book and they were for a station wagon with a 327 I think. So carry a numbers guide with you when you look at a car.
