First did the brakes all around ($$$), then had major launch problems - discovered I had a busted torque tube. I welded that and redid the driveline (clutch, bearings, pressure plate). Now has new carpet, new shifter boot, new (white) shifter ball with shifter pattern. Also replaced both fenders, front valence, and grille with NOS parts. Will be adding fender skirts. Is a nice driver now, except for the bias-ply tires. Next steps are exhaust, paint, convertible top replacement. Located in Oxford, MI.

Cool Our '62 Tempest Tube Chassis Drag Car

Here is a few pics of our '62 Tempest LeMans that we turned into a tube chassis drag car. We are looking at being on the track in the beginning of the 2007 drag race season.

Thanks PMD- I intend to show the LeMans at the Atlanta BOP&C Show, 28 April (I just placed an entry in the "Events" forum. Other than that, I'll go to a few local cruise nights.

Go to the website where you have your pictures posted. Click on the picture you want to see. When you have the full size image of your car on the screen, right click on it with the mouse. Go down to properties and left click. Copy the url of your photo. Then type up your post here on this website, then click on the insert image button. A box will pop up saying input image url. Paste the url you copied and press okay. Then click on preview post to be sure that it attached it. If it looks good, submit your reply. I hope this helps.

That's an awesome car Brad!

Are you planning on putting a Pontiac in it? Not that you need to, that engine is bad ass!

BobDef1 - I saw your '61 run last year at Norwalk - it was one of my favorite cars there although I believe it only made (1) pass.

A guy from the Philadelphia area owned the car, I believe he said he was the previous owner of Scott Rex's current race car.

Did you buy it turnkey with the IA motor in it?

Brad, I have to say that your 63 is the best looking 63 I've ever seen. Of course blue is my favorite color, and your car is set up perfect with the wheels and stance. Not big on the engine type, but still a great ride. Afraid to ask how much you don't even want to figure into getting it to this top notch level! (We know this hobby ain't cheap anyway!)

Did you buy that car or are you the builder Brad?

I've seen that car before. I think they were trying to sell it for $80-90k

Apache warrior
i bought it from the guys from phili unfortunately they kept the motor. the motor in it is fresh and strong not as many cubes as the IA motor but hopefully a good runner.
