Ok Mike and Dick both of your pics appear to use the throttle cable, which would indicate a gto, the big cars i've seen all have the solid rod coming from that hinge thing on the firewall, does this make sense? maybe just the auto tri powers for all size cars have the solid rod, i don't know, and allmost every tri power picture has a different bracket for the return spring. I think i'm starting to develop a idea of what it needs to look like, but if someone had a linkage photo of a bone stock auto big car tri power that was in the car, it would help. Still waiting on parts, i guess i could have sprung for air delivery but i'm too cheap.

If these help here are pics I found of a 63 and 64 gp autos (I know I know not 65) but it gives you a idea for full size cars, pics show the top rod has a plunger system? to give the play before the end carbs open up, bottom rod goes to kick down linkage (picture you show only has two rods but you said it was a auto car?) as for the linkage on the 66 2+2 thats all custom stuff I have the same junk/stuff on a 64 tri set I have.
