Brake cleaner to start.
Engine Primer 2 coats
Engine Paint 3 coats.

I used POR20 aluminum color paint to recently paint the ARP head bolts. They were begining ot rust. I used regular paint on one side and POR20 on the other to see which I liked best. I like the POR20 painted bolts better. Every other external bolt is stainless.

I have mine painted, left the Edelbrock logo in tact. I don't have near the miles as some do, I am only looking at about 50-60 miles since my motor has been built about 2-3 years ago, but I do have a lot of idle and tuning time on them which still produce heat and mine still look good.

Not to mention the aluminum on my E-heads was starting to discolor from age, so decide to paint them my baby blue 65 engine color. People at the local cruises don't know what is going on with my motor. They scratch their head because they know it doesn't look right but they can't figure it out.

What gets me is I have many people asking me why I put a BBC in my car????? I tell them it is all Pontiac and end up arguing with them.

Why do people do that, sheesh......

Cast heads would have been turning brownish-white by now
