That is a very interesting car with those options,Jim. I saw a car on eBay a few days ago,and it has a Plum Mist color code.It is less bright than yours,and closer to the few PM ones I have seen.How did you derive that color as PM? It is purple,but did you "spruce it up"? nice car !!! Larry Banks

Larry you have a good eye for details! I have never seen another PM car in person but my car is a PM car, here is the trim tag info...

When I took the car apart for resto the original paint was still intact and perfect on the cowl area behind the fenders, I had it scanned with a paint formula high tech thingy from my paint supplier, providing a perfect match,(I did add a bit more ultrafine flake into it). I painted it in DuPont Chromabase and sprayed 4 coats of clear over the base color, so it does have a huge shine to it.

I am surprised by the number of cars I have seen advertised, many of them very nice restorations, which sport, cheap, aftermarket steering wheels. Huge turn off to me. My thinking is that if you drop 30K+ on a resto, at least pony up for a nice, original style steering wheel. JMO Nice car though.

If you are referring directly to my steering wheel choice it was hardly cheap and IMO fits in perfectly with the period retro theme I built the car to represent.

I dropped more than 30k into the resto

Tell ya what, if you want the car I will install a oem restored wheel for you at no extra cost, lol!

I wasn't slamming the car, and my use of the word "cheap" was probably a poor choice of words. My apologies. What I meant was that I seem to see a lot of really nice cars with aftermarket steering wheels, which in my opinion, deter from the look of the car. I hadn't considered the "period correct" point of view. Please forgive my biased opinion.

I never felt you were slamming my car (well except the wheel...LOL)! And my reply was intended to be in humor, not a flame.

My wheel is "cheap" compared to a NOS wooden wheel, lol. but my wheel is pretty rare with the white rim, and ive always liked them as a kid.

No need to ask forgiveness regarding your thoughts, everyone has there own likes and dislikes.
