With my big 3 core its something like 27-30"? wide between tanks and the lincoln fan doesn't cover it 100% probably have like 3 " on each side then its too tall it is like a 1" below the bottom core too, but it does cool it just fine it seems

I wish I had that kind of capacity! The '66 A body has a tiny radiator in comparison.

Also, the depth of the Lincoln fan wouldn't fit between my radiator and water pump pulley, even with the shroud completely removed. I might try an F body dual fan setup next.

You could probably use the dual fan setup that is on the 2005-2006 Chevrolet and GMC full size 1/2 ton trucks. This covers a wide core area and looks like a nice package. Dont know how much air they pull, but they dont seem to have any trouble keeping the temp steady on these pickups, even when towing trailers and such. They work as well as the clutch fans on the same vehicle from 1999-2004.

their nice ,but way too big! would cover the tanks and everything!..

I was always curious of this issue. I realize that they make the fans to cover the fins, but what if it did cover the tanks? Would it be pulling less air if it was covering the tanks by say an inch?? Seems that it would still pull air??

Just curious. My new electric gauge should be here by the end of the week. Had to go with a short sweep,2 wire gauge to match the rest of the dash, plus save on cost.

Just curious. My new electric gauge should be here by the end of the week. Had to go with a short sweep,2 wire gauge to match the rest of the dash, plus save on cost.

I would think that IF it covered all the fins and the tank hat would be fine. You could get a good seal with weather stripping to the tank.....also it would help if ALL the air coming thru the grill was "guided" into the radiator....Eric

If it was sealed well you could probably even cover some of the core support.

Never measured them, A friend of mine used to have a 74 Grandville, and I know the cores are real wide. I work on late model vehicles and happen to notice these a while back. Thought they may fit the 71-76 full size cars, but you may be right. The next time I get one in there Ill measure the fan assy and post it on here. The 07 on up body style has quite a fan setup on it too.(May be the same one). Had a 09 Escalade EXT in there today for a state inspection. Had a 6.2 litre V8. When the vehicle was running with the AC on, both fans came on and there was a moth stuck up against the grill that couldnt move.

Another one came through this past friday. A 2006 Silverado. The fan assy was 34 inches wide.
