The dreaded AA/Fueler of Keith Black, Don Greer and Don Prudhomme gathered one of the winningest records in Drag racing with something like a 212 to 8 win to loss record in the '62-'63 time frame.

Happily,one of the cars that did beat GBP was the independant Pontiac powered entry ownedby Ernies camera shop in Glendale, Ca. Known as the 'Shudderbug', it was driven my Tommy Ivo and "Wild" Bill Alexander. Bill later bought the car and totalled it at San Fernando. Went as quick as 8.02 at around 191.  About 8 years back, Bills son anda few friends recreated the car using its original engine. Very pretty.

I would love to find one of these under the christmas tree! I notice one has WW tyres, the other doesn't. Any Junior Star Chief owners out there know some details?
Anyone have some old pics of the Club de Mer pedal car by chance? That would have to be the ultimate "Kiddie" car ever! |
