1100 don't seem like such a big number. http://www.tcstangs.com/forum/showth...-pucker-factor Tom Vaught

"Why" do you (hate/dislike/get annoyed by) power adder projects?
I think the perception is that a power adder is "easy" horsepower compared to "earned" horsepower. Many still consider it "cheating". Truth be told, a competitive power adder car is a lot of extra work. |

This old Power-Adder won it's 1st race & sold for more than 4 million dollars on Friday, in Hershey Pa.
Steaks provided by the winnings, not the engine builder, nor the slug company. |

I was at the Butlers' shop today checking out our motor that Rod took apart for season's end inspection, and look what showed up!!
![]() Who was it from? A bearing comapny? Nope, not with these bearings..... ![]() Piston company? Uh, the two spares from the set of ten that we bought FOUR YEARS AGO are still in the trailer, so nope! ![]() Head gasket company? yeah right!! these are going back on the motor! ![]() I think I figured it out....it has to be from VP Race Fuels, cause that's all this motor uses up! If I was an engine builder, I would rather have ONE NA customer as TEN turbo customers, cause the NA motors are going to need a LOT more parts than the turbo guys are, and the NA stuff costs BIG $$!! In all seriousness, all these parts have right at 90 passes and probably a total of twenty dyno pulls on them. Rod took the motor apart to put rods in it. Hate to, but we got no choice with this many hits. (however, we wont talk about stuff like rearend housings and wheelie bars.) Sorry, I had to. ![]() TQ |

Nice looking parts there Travis. As soon as I get done with my surgery and back to work I am going to give you a call as I will be ready to start my Turbo build too.

Rodney and I literally laughed out loud as we looked at these parts.
What we were able to come up with is that we are not leaning on it hard enough yet, which is probably true. I nearly fell out in the floor when Rod showed me the Omaha Steaks cooler - I knew what I had to do LOL! One of their customers sent the steaks to them, I think Rodney told me. |
