My mom had a 68 or 69 Delta 88 4 door with 455. That thing is probably still running.

OP, that is a very clean original looking car. I think you would be surprised at how many interested parties you may have. I'm thinking it could pull 3500 or more with the right buyer. Also, it would be perfect for a movie car.

Overkillphil...It would be nice if it did bring a good price. These are really nice people and have had a tough life that would embitter alot of people. They are in their late seventies and have done a ton of vounteer work for others within their community.
They have had 3 children. They lost a girl when she was preschool. They have lost 2 sons that were both wheelchair bound from a crippling disease---can't remember what it was. The boys were about 20 and I think one was in his late 20's, I think.
They don't have much. Chuck was a truck driver for a freight company and Marilyn stayed at home taking care of the boys. Just good people that deserve better.
They were really tickled when I called them and told them it ran and that I drove it.
Thanks to all of you that have kept this thread going. Cap

WOW, I haven't seen one of these in years. It brings back memories from when my grandfather had one and we used to ride in it. The car he had bought new before the 68 Delmont 88 (brown I believe) was a 57 Bel Air.

I would gladly pay the asking price if I had a place to put it. It would be a great cruizer and fill a special sentimental place in my memory. Looks like a solid car in very good condition. Worthy of the asking price.

Good luck Cap. If I wasn't Pontiac through and through, Id be in the Oldsmobile group.

Thanks 61-63! I took about 20 pictures a week ago for a interested party near Chicago. I haven't sent them yet, but will today. I kinda got sidelined with a procedure on my back in the last week. But I do have more pictures if needed. Thanks for the help....I owe ya.

Someone on the AACA site pointed out to me that they cannot PM you because they are not members of this site. If you will either pm me with your email address and/or phone number, or that of the owners of the car, I will put the information on the AACA forums.
Or you can join the AACA forums and do it yourself if you wish you; do not have to be a member of AACA to be on their forums.

I'd be on that in a heartbeat if it wasn't 1200 miles away. Bummer.

i'd sure like to hear that you got more than 2000 for it. maybe price it at 3500 for a while and see what happens?
Phil had a good idea about it being a potential movie car. i could see that.
great story and i hope the owners can do something special with the money.

Indeed. When I inheited the GV I didn't want a 4 dr. Now with kids, I'm glad it is.

That's a nice old Olds and for $2k it's a cheap ticket to get a nice condition old car.

Thanks F Rock...and Grandville. Chuck and Marilyn are very special people. They are apprehensive about raising the price. They commented that They had put a price on it and it somehow didn't seem right to raise it. Maybe later after a respectable time has lapsed.

Not a lot of people looking for one of the 'big girls.' I would put it on Ebay with a starting bid of $2000 then if you sell it for more it's a plus. Hopefully it sells to someone to 'love' it instead on ripping it's heart out for a cutlass. I have some 4 door 88/98's. I call them my money pits . Good luck, Ken

Thanks Ken. It looks like the time has come to go that route. Cap
