As far as I know, the heads I did for him are the same heads he still has on his car. Now why did he switch heads, he wanted to go faster, take advantage of the latest technology, try to maximize his combination. That's not different than you sending old heads to Gaby, Robin decided to start with new castings. If someone called me today, I would love to charge $7,000.00 for my labor, but in reality, it would be closer to $4k to match the power Robin has made. Calvin Hill Hill Performance 708-250-7420 |

Thats a hell of a better deal than 12k, lets not forget the 12k didnt include the cost of the bare heads, so thats another 1800 bucks on top of the 12k. You would think Gaby would have a cnc port for those eheads for 500 ci builds.

... ok, lets see here, a CV-1 customer can send his heads to Hill performance, and spend almost $4K and in return be able to make enough power to run 7's on N20, or an E-Head customer can send his E-Heads to the master and spend (WELL OVER $12K) to run 8 teens at Norwalk on N20 ??? ... ... hummm, lets see here, where's my Internet Drag Racing Calculator ?? ...

... and just to be clear about Robin's 3 sets of heads, you guys are tryin' to insinuate he burned up 2 sets of heads, are you not ?? ...
... that is completely false, the first set that Robin got from Roland were replaced with the RaceShop CNC'd CV-1's (381cfm) versions, and they were sponsered to Robin, meaning FREE !!! ... ... Robin DID NOT burn up his first set of heads !!! Period !!! ... ... Those 1st heads are getting installed on another build, Period !!! ... ... the RaceShop heads are the ones that had the spark plug/seat issue, and they got replaced with Calvin's Quest CNC'd CV-1's, and they are in PERFECT WORKING CONDITION !!! Period !!! ... ... so get your chit staright Jack, and not any of those sets cost anywhere near ... (Well Over $12K) to Duplicate !!

Money well spent to get this kind of performance.
As a contractor myself it is easy to see the dollars and cents of all this. As a hobbyist head grinder I see the time involved to achieve a particular end product. I look at it this way and I know others would agree on this example. 80 hours labor (+/-) 2 full time work weeks 75$ per hour (+/- may vary based on individual and op costs/overhead) $6000 before parts. Give or take. There is paying a price just to race. Then there is paying to be competitive. A picture bought from Walmart. Or a picture painted by Picasso. Even Pep Boys has a 95+$ hourly rate.
