Keith, from what I have been told, there is a short piece that has to be removed from under the dash to drop the steering column down. What I need is a picture from the floor pointing up at the bottom of the dash to see if there is a piece of metal directly under the steering column that does get removed, mine is missing, I think. My underdash lap ac vent will not attach correctly with a void in that area....see pic..

Perhaps you mean the underdash "Plate" shown above the "Valve & Adapter ASSY" shown in the illustration below? (from Pontiac GTO Restoration Guide)
I'll be looking for a photo and detail of the steering column to post here for you too. Hope this helps. |
