FWIW: the pinion seal shows a different part number for the 65 and the 66 to 70. I've never compared the seals to see if there is a machining difference in the carriers or not...

The pinion seal started to leak some time later and my diff guy was having difficulty getting a seal. I would assume he was looking for a '66 seal and I never told him it was a '65 diff. He eventually solved the problem but its something to keep in mind for the future. Thanks Ian ![]() ![]()

Rock Auto calls for SKF 19310 for '65 and SKF 19273 for '66. They are definitely different. Here are the specs:
