That is a pic of a later version, correct? The pedals are different sizes and the toe panel is the later style.

Norwood's picture is the correct early version with the correct pedal pads. I think the clutch pedal appears a little larger because it is closer to the camera (optical illusion). The later style clutch pedal is about 2/3 the size and is very noticable. I do agree that the toe panel looks to be a later one.

Here's a pic of the toe panel I've found to be used in 70 -- notice the left side. Yours is a later build. If it's original, I wonder if it was a mid year change? It appears a couple of different sized screws have been used.

X2. That is the same one my 71 had (Dec built Van Nuys car). Mine was cracked so I first grabbed one out of a mid-70s bird at the U-pull yard and didn't realize it was different until I compared them. Found another yard with a 70 Camaro that had the correct one.

Captured washer is 1", Thread is 1 3/4" long. Head is 3/8ths. Manual shows same part # as AMK, but there is a difference.

Craig... your toe panel went out today via UPS.. I found you a real nice one that I cleaned up for you- looks really nice. Plus found 2 of the correct screws that I had taken out of a either a 1870or '71 bird. As with all my bolts, been re manganese phosphate plated, so you get the real toe panel with correct OEM bolts. You should have these by Friday afternoon.
Keep me up on the lug nuts program.. Take care.. |

![]() Really, Thanks so much Bill, just like always you come thru for me. I had long ago forgotten that my original had been cracked and I replaced it with one that I stole off my 79 Camaro before I sold it. These are the things that happen when you own a car as long as I have. Its also the reason that this is the best Pontiac information board in the world, the membership here is the most knowledgeable anywhere. I only hope that I contribute a bit to that. |
