I am curious, as the theme to acheive Hp to get to 1000 hp or more, is to build a bigger engine, then why have so very many people shy away from the 4.75 strokes and 565-571 ci.??? Is there an issue in the geometry of stroke in the bottom of the bore in the aftermarket blocks and how it relates to the wrist pin? From the engine builders out there, please give your input. Otherwise many more may people may want to step up if the safety/longevity is not and issue. I know some people have built the 4.75 stroke large inch engines, is it worth it??

I believe this (how much piston is coming out of the bottom of bore ABDC) has been talked about before. On the IA 2 block does anyone know the length of the shelve.
