I wasn't hurt.. Just pointing out the driver was 35 as per the article regarding the crash... I'm 46...so 35 doesn't seem that old....or old enough to have a "mid life crisis" as you put it......whatever that is..

Ok, dont want to upset anyone so forget what i wrote. The point I was trying to make was that not seldom does the driver think he still have the skills as when he was 18 when he can aford the ride of his dream 15 - 20 years later. This after being an adult responsible driver with kids and wife in the car. it might be a theory for this case but from where I come from this is seen in about every Corvette driver (of newer model).

That's a really good example. I only know two newer Corvette owners who haven't wrecked one.

My personal preference has most always been to get to know the vehicle/equipment driving solo w gradual testing of the machine and personal limits...much easier to overcome driving FUBARs without screaming & gnashing teeth passengers.

Notice this story, and many others, the driver had "friends" riding along in this brand new High Performance ride, perhaps on the maiden voyage?
