I have the correct "flash" chrome covers that will be installed once the engine is in. These are sacrificial covers just in case there is an uh-oh....the flash chrome covers are like hens teeth to find in decent shape and no one has been able to duplicate the process commercially.

For the same reason you probably wouldn't want to put a '71 hood on a '73 Superduty.
