Thanks, for the quick reply. Mine has the Carter AFB so I guess I have the correct carb. I'm new to Pontiacs and GTO's. Just curious Here is a picture of my car Where would the carb number be located?

Nice car! And welcome.
The '66 guys will weigh-in, but the carb should have either a metal tag on the right rear under the air horn (drivers side) or a stamp on the left front of the throttle body near the idle screws (possibly both stamp and tag). Should be 3-4 digits followed by an "S" if it's a Pontiac AFB.
