This forum is what you make it.

Since you haven't been posting anything for the last 4-1/2 years and then decide to start a thread here wondering if the forum is dying, maybe you should try to help keep it healthy by participating more.

Just a thought, not trying to be rude.

Good question. I even posted this same question at the time of the change over.

The change over to Ames was not handled correctly, and I'm quite sure that we lost members due to that, imo.

The old PY address just simply went away with no explanation. It was several days, (a week or more maybe?), before the old py address was linked to the new Maxperformance one. I'm betting that some of the less computer savy members just assumed that PY died and didn't bother searching for it like I did.

AMEN!

Another site that got sold: www.letstalksnow.com died and lost
most of its members when sold.
It was a popular snowplowing site.

This site isn't even close to dying, IMO. I'm on here everyday, although I don't log on all the time. I don't contribute much, but I read a lot and learn a lot. And like others, I haven't been active in the hobby much because of personal stuff in my life - getting divorced.

No problem here with the change over.

I start very little but contribute when I can.

Not dieing
to me. I see some on FB but much misinformation there and has to be corrected. Many times that misinformation is posted multiple times in different areas and if not corrected on each one then it is believed as truth.

That does not happen here much as usually some one will correct the falsehood.

That's about like the lads from "the land down under", when summer sets in for them.

I always thought I was a "fart-smucker" when it came to Pontiacs, at least around my friends. Then I stumbled across this forum. I'm still in 1st grade. LOL.
It's almost imbarassing (SP) to ask a question at my age, BUT you're never too old to learn. Stay alive PY !!

Agree that the change over to Ames was handled poorly, but anyone who hasn't found the "new" location of the site by now couldn't have been that interested in the first place.

Ironically, lots of people found the new forums URL/address via posts on Facebook... LOL...

I've noticed that traffic on this site ebbs and flows at different times of the year. One thing for sure... this site IS "Pontiac central". We all need to make sure this site lives for many years to come!

I read a lot of threads. I read a lot of the race threads yet have no answers, because I have never legally drag raced. I think it is a combo of people at that age where we have other stuff going on and the season is winding down. Most of us are getting into winter projects. (although I did drive the Tempest today with my wife in the car complaining the whole time. BLISS!!!)

Add that to the fact that almost 65% of the threads are specific to a handful of cars or peeps. Is this board dying no way!!

I talked to 6 different people today about the difference between 6011 and 7018 SMAW weld rods here. I looked on the thread, I didnt see you... Just sayin'!
