Split set, D228 & D238, very common from what I've seen.

And the date that started the 'R 96 A' castings.
Unless there is better documentation? |

Does anyone know if RA II GTO's ordered with an in dash tach from the factory would have received a 5200 rpm tach or a 5500 rpm tach? Was a 5500 rpm dash tach available in 1968 with steel blue face?

I believe the redline on my RAII hood tach is the same (5100). Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk |

About a year ago there was a triple black '68 convertible Ram Air for sale online with an instrument cluster tach with 5500 redline. I have no idea if that is original or correct but it must be available somewhere. That car is the early Ram Air model that many refer to as RAI. I would like to know myself what is the correct redline for the tachs on these cars. Maybe someone knows of a documented survivor car that has a tach and can post a photo. Excellent. Thanks for the info. My hood tach is 5100 so that it what I was planning on using when it gets restored.
