the way Justin tells it, he brought the car to don dial for some upgrades. don refused them and would only work on the car if things were done his way. is it NHRA certed, don't know. did don build a safer race car, absolutely.

I've seen cars loose traction down track on prepped tacks too. maybe you remember warren Johnson's comments after loosing traction down track at an NHRA national event.

as a counter point, would dave's wreck have been as bad and him as hurt, if it was on the street where there's no jersey barriers to hit. maybe it would have gone off into a field and not hit anything or rolled.

racing cars is dangerous where ever it's done. different venues present different dangers.

Daves wreck was at a drag strip TRUE.......BUT it was a NO-Prep race.
Justin's mid-hap......would it have happened at a WELL PREPPED drag strip......probably not.

Any car that goes sideways WILL roll and roll a lot (I've been in a car when it went sideways and rolled)! Daves car lost traction?
The barriers are there for spectator SAFETY!

Wow tons of post since my question. I did not put it out there as bait. Just wanted people to take an educated guess. My guess was 7.00-7.80 for the top 5.

To me that is F'ing flying. So George, there are a lot of street cars running that. I don't think as many as we everyone thinks. Chiefs new car is not a street car, but the other 4 I am talking about have lights and are registered.

Give credit where it is do. The 405 called out many people on the street and for the most part come out on top. They could not beat Kye Kelly's old pro stock car ( daddy dave beat him once) but the know how to run on the street.

The show is great to me, I was a little disappointed in Chief's car choice, but when you call out the entire USA you better be ready. He does not want to bring a knife to a gun fight!!

A bigger engine and better heads would give Chief all the power (500-1,000hp more) he would need. A Pro Mod car is cool but over kill for the street racing reality show.

HP isn't the issue, everyone on the show isn't using all the HP they can produce.
