I restored my 68 FB console using a real wood Walnut Burlwood veneer. I used a form of vacuum bagging and epoxy to get the veneer wood to form to the console. In the post below I post some pics and where I bought supplies and how I did it.

Its a lot of work and maybe too much work but adds a pretty cool authentic wood look.
