Internals of the 1967-1969 cocktail shaker. Weight is 22.5 pounds each, so that's an extra 45 lbs in back, 45 lbs. in front. The center piece is cast iron and very heavy.
I knew a guy that setup a street/strip Firebird convertible. He cut the front shakers open and removed the guts. He cut open the rears and replaced the cast iron piece and spring setup (and fluid) with heavy 50 lb steel weights, then welded them back together, adding 100 lbs of weight in the rear. Mike
