To tell you the truth if you're using DLC coated pins it says you don't have stuff together on clearance vs pin bending vs bore profile in the piston under cylinder pressure. I hate it because it's expensive but it has it's place. I've had to put two engines into production with steel pistons and DLC coated pins due to running out of time. I'm working projects to remove it!

For limited resource programs/low volume it has it place for solving pin/piston/rod joint issues.
