Its also obvious to people who race that when you change a combo sometimes it takes time to get the car itself tuned to the new setup. Your example of gaining .5 and 10 mph might happen right off the bat...but it might not. |

Not to mention you are throwing in a whole lot of "maybes", yet you sure act like you know its the heads. |

I'm not interested in getting involved in this back and forth crap, but I at least wanted to correct a few wrong numbers. I have NEVER been 1.0 60ft in my car. I don't know where you pulled that number from. The best I ever went was 1.12, read my sig. I have been 1.07 before, but that was when a buddy let me drive his 67 Chevy II that went 4.60's in the 1/8. As for the other numbers, the best ET my HP combo went was 8.38, the mph was usually 158-159. My CV-1 combo right out of the gate went 8.08 @ 165. So, that's 3 tenths and 6 mph. For whatever reason, my car would never mph as much as I thought it should, with either combo. That's all I have to say, so carry on....

I have raced. I'm definitely not the most experienced racer. But none of what I've said requires an expert to know. Its pretty basic stuff. I really think what happened here is the racers spend time over on Yellowbullet. They get used to the crap they see over there, and how its done...then bring it back over here.
And the moderators have done a crappy job of keeping the forum a cool place to share experiences, knowledge, etc. At least in the race section. I get being competitive. I get banter and having fun. But guys...this isn't fun. Not the healthy kind. I'm no tree hugger by any means. I spent time in a uniform doing some miserable things. I don't expect everyone to like everyone else or get along. But have a little respect for others, and even yourselves. |

But that doesnt change the fact that Poe had a healthy, significantly faster car when he switched to CV-1 heads. I think I've mentioned before I'm not a believer in any one head. I have E-heads I am happy with. Whats obvious is that Poe's Cv-1 heads were better on HIS engine than Poe's E-heads were. THAT's what the results showed, and they showed it without question. |
