"I wouldn't say there is no cheating… There are a few top tier racers in the class that have pushed the rule book a little beyond what's acceptable. There have been guys who have been caught and guys who were rumored to be cheating, but were never caught and were legal the next time the car was out."

You'll find more of that sort of thing in Pure Stock vs FAST, as in FAST it simply has to be "factory appearing" or basically look correct and have the correct part number(s), etc.

"Stock" classes in just about every sort of drag racing have always had some folks pushing limits and going outside boundaries. Some get away with it, some don't, and for sure there isn't anyone looking at you real hard until you start beating up on everyone!.......FWIW.....Cliff

I think we all know there are 2 kinds of drag racers; cheaters and losers!. You are a cheater when what you have managed to do to make your car really fast is judged by another to be cheating. When what you have accomplished is not questioned or judged to be cheating, you are just "brilliant". I suggest reading the Smokey Yunick book series to explore the fine line between cheating and brilliance. Was Smokey a serial cheater or a genius? Choose your side.
