I got this thing running like a top now, still sorting out a few issues with the brakes and steering before its maiden voyage. I ordered a brand new Lares pump to put in the pontiac canister, and a rebuilt brake booster as it seems mine is not holding vacuum. (no "whoosh) if I unplug the check valve with the car off) Also misplaced my front seatbelts but it seemed like the type of thing you should have new so I bought a set from seatbeltsplus.com. Not too worried about the rears yet, as I don't think my 5 year old son would have any leg room back there behind my seat anyway.

I suspected this might be the case, but the one I ordered will come with a free one
so I'll try that first before I go ripping the whole thing back out. If this booster will work I can always use the one I'm getting today in the 62 catalina.Next up is the issue that my headlight doors don't move an inch. But at least they're stuck open so its a "down the road" deal. |
