Here's the one that came with my 1971 when I purchased it. Might have been replaced, I suppose. No ink stamped date on these like I notice on the speedometer backside.

Yes, the gauges with the higher temp numbers were Service Replacement parts for the earlier lower temp units.
To me, this is kind of like using the '73 dated talilamp lenses for a '70-72 car. They'll fit fine and work well, but not exactly identical.
Chad, I'd say you are correct in believing that the gauge assembly was changed before you got the TA.

These drain plugs have the magnet built into them.

I was under the impression that the PF-30 oil filter was installed at the factory during the '60's-'70's.

Also, I'm kinda curious how many have some reservations about running a 40-50 year old oil filter in their nicely rebuilt engine.

This is the list of applications in the Pontiac family that are in the lookup. Looks like the PF30 wasn't used until 1974 in the MPC. But, I did not remove the original oil filter from one of these cars ever.
