Kurt,
I hope this is not a stupid question but would not having all the front sheet metal on the car affect the alignment ?

Shouldn't make a difference. Everything is there except the front end...Karl Bick will make sure!

While at Basic Body and Paint, we have be tackling the left rear side of Blu BiYu. She looks pretty sad right now, but with some QT and the passion I see in Clark Gick's eyes, this car will be done right!...
Like he tells me, "I ain't scared"....I am having the time of my life working this this man! Thanks Clark for taking this "old man" under your wing and "learnin' me"....
Don't forget what I told you November 2017...."Heck...all she needs is a little TLC and some paint!"

Yes, it will. Unless you have steering arms that correct for bump steer or Savitske's kit you need the car at weigh to align.

Thanks for the info. I'll find out this week. Not a problem if I have to wait!

Z4,
Yep...She is now at Hubbard GM Center. I spoke with the tech about the front end alignment. He advised he will pay close attention, but did not have much concern about not having the front end on the car. As a matter of fact, I have QA1 Motor Sports front suspension and it is pretty stiff on it's setup.
We'll see....not a problem either way....

Worked on the bumpers for the '71....

Rear is new and the front is the original. I had to do some straightening. It may just pass for good enough...I'll wait for that decision once I bolt it on the car. If not good enough.....

...the original front and the rear will be for sale...$...

Default And So It Begins

Started at Basic Body and Paint in Chalmers, Indiana. Have her up on the lift. Needed to remove door glass in order to remove the old window felt....
Then Clark Gick began the task of evaluating just what kind of shape she really is...

We made some "constructive" progress on Blu BiYu yesterday. Left side...trunk brace, trunk panel, inner/outer wheel well and the rear quarter is in place with a few screws and many clamps...
Note the photo with the quarter/trunk gapping...not too bad for a first...

Love working with Clark Gick....This is definitely not his "first rodeo"....Thanks Buddy!

May get started tomorrow removing all the side glass and the rest of the trim along with the window felt...Let's do this thing....

Also purchasing all the needed material and paint to completely restore the Rally II wheels....If I don't use them, they should be a great thing to sell...$$

Default Off to Paint she goes!

Off to paint she goes! Removed the Torque Thrust D wheels and tires. Installed the stock Pontiac wheels...when she is done, I will restore the original Poncho wheels with new centers and polish the trim rings....Might just look good with them...
