They say that real men don't read instructions....This one does!...

...and it all lined up and the bolts went in on the first try....Gotta love Time and Patience!...They tend to pay huge dividends....

An Idea I had when I was looking for a name for her!....Last photo....

Took some time today and mocked up all the new Chrome Emblems. I drilled out the existing holes so I can simply install them after paint!...

Kurt,
It just keeps getting better and better. When does the rear bumper go on?

Default Alignment and lube the chassis

We took Blu BiYu to Hubbard GM Center in Monticello, Indiana for some attention. What a thrill to be associated with a wonderful family run business such as Hubbards. They truly are some of the last "Homegrown" companies in America!

Kurt,
I hope this is not a stupid question but would not having all the front sheet metal on the car affect the alignment ?

Shouldn't make a difference. Everything is there except the front end...Karl Bick will make sure!

Yes, it will. Unless you have steering arms that correct for bump steer or Savitske's kit you need the car at weigh to align.

Thanks for the info. I'll find out this week. Not a problem if I have to wait!

Z4,
Yep...She is now at Hubbard GM Center. I spoke with the tech about the front end alignment. He advised he will pay close attention, but did not have much concern about not having the front end on the car. As a matter of fact, I have QA1 Motor Sports front suspension and it is pretty stiff on it's setup.
We'll see....not a problem either way....

Default Alignment Time

Blu BiYu had her turn on the "Rack" at Hubbard GM Center in Monticello, Indiana...
We had to turn over the Upper Control Arm Shaft. The new ones I installed are offset. Makes it so much easier to align with less shims....
Looks much different on a lift.....She cleans up pretty good for an "Ole' Girl" of 46 years....

That exhaust system looks familiar to me. Great choice!

If it weren't for what I can see around the back glass channel in this photo..I'd be wondering what in the heck you want to paint that car for...it looks that good!

Awe...Thanks Greg! She is in awfully good shape for being a 1971 Indiana car. She does have her little flaws, and I totally believe my wife's OCD is setting in.....
Oh my...she will look so pretty when done! Same color "Blu", new white interior w/ black carpet, console and dash. White faced gauges, Torque Thrust D wheels, BFG white letter, along with red calipers and red accents on the car....

I JUST GOT STOKED
....AGAIN!!
