Not sure John, I haven't had it out or been able to get a look at it with mirrors yet to confirm it. Is it the stamping in the lower part of the tag that determines what it was in originally, or is it the two big letters on either side of the top of the tag?

They should match.
Probably the have a blank 'PZ' plate then stamp the id stuff on it when tranny is being installed. (or whatever plate is needed like PD, PC, etc) The partial VIN would have the plant where the car was built. If it wasn't a 'N' then it's not an original plate.
