Everything went good with one exception. I am having a heck of a time urinating. Very frequent trips to the John, a lot of pain and very little production. I am going to my urologist tomorrow morning. We think it may be from the anesthesia and my bladder might still be asleeep

Call your doctor NOW and tell him or her what's going on. You had spinal surgery, and could have nicked a nerve in that area. It's probably nothing, but on the other hand, you might need a catheter so you're not going screaming into the ER at 4 AM this morning.

Call NOW, repeat, NOW. If you can't get ahold of the surgeon, were I in your shoes, I'd hit the ER.

I would agree with Mr. Dillon, perhaps your system is just in a little shock from the surgery, and it’s trying to get back on track, however it’s not worth taking a chance waiting, before you get into bigger trouble with the urinary track, kidneys. and bladder. Call the Doc, or get to the ER anything with the bodily functions, can take a nose dive quickly. Please be well!

Was toroidal part of your anesthesia? If so, it’s a paralytic drug so it may still be in your system. I know I’ve had problems urinating after all my back surgeries because of it. Additionally, it’s common practice to insert a catheter in surgery patients. They might have removed it or inserted it a little bit too rough which irritated your urethra causing the pain. Be there , done that!
