I'm guessing the clock was an award to a salesman for having a good year?

That's my guess. My father in law was the new car sales manager in Evansville back in the heyday. He had wall plaques, desk top dust collector stuff, they received for contests GM had. Tilt wheel promotions, Tinted glass promotions.

He gave a few to me when he retired, nobody else in the family cared about the stuff. I still have the Pontiac 8 track demo tapes.

Chev had a promotion once with a basketball give away if you took a test drive.

Oldsmobile did clocks with the ROCKET next to it. Think that was a 50's name for their engines or something.

That's a real cool dealer award. Are the base & clock housing made of marble?

Olds used the "Rocket" moniker for some of their engines clear up until 1980.
