You can rechrome and repair the trim. The trim is a V shape, use a dermal tool and remove the broken off stud and base. Carefully cut a hole on the inside where the stud was. Take an 8X32 screw and put the head of the screw into the hole. Yes, you can grind down or head of the screw. JB Weld the screw in place. You can use tape for a temporary brace to hold the screw in place. When the JB is dry, you can mount the trim using washers and nuts. Much more secure than gluing a trim part on.
