While I guessed at the deck possibly being 1/2" or so, it's actually the same 5/8" as an Edelbrock.

Good! If you consider the reactivity of aluminum with coolant, a thicker deck ensures your ability to mill the deck without losing strength. Head gasket life with these heads(when proper finish requirements are complied with) should be excellent.
