Putting an LS is a vintage car looks wrong and the car loses it's soul. And in most cases, torque - which is what makes a Pontiac a Pontiac.

I like a nice untouched original car.. but... I'd much rather have a restomodded car that handles... stops and can cruise 80+ down the freeway than a car that is only good in a straight line a 1/4 mile at a time.
