I started a Registry for '68 RA Firebirds around 30+ years ago. Collecting anything I can find regarding surviving RA & RAII Birds. Currently updating the matrix. While most owners are glad to help, some prefer to not share details so there are some gaps.

This thread is extremely out of date. You should start a site, John. You have the info on both of my RAII birds...both of which are not in this Roll Call since I found both in the last two years.

I have a rudimentary page I had set up for the RAI & II. John had sent me some of his data, which I included. Not sure how updated it is though.
Most data is from this site or from John. I may have added some of my data. RA I & II That page also has a link for the form to send/update info.

It is almost a twin to my RA II except for 4-speed and hideaways! It's amazing that they are still surfacing. I like how the guy just kind of nonchalantly mentions that it is a RA II at the very end?!

Maybe they changed the ad but this was the first line now and honestly what I recall reading last night:

You're correct.
![]() I didn't notice it. Just saw that it had a 455 in it. When I saw the BHC, I knew it was a RA II. Then read it again (guess not well) with the 455 being built and Aluminum heads and didn't see it mentioned until the end.

The RA car owned by Blackbird did sell at Mecum and is still in Florida (see pic). I was friends with Blackbird and his brother. The person who bought that car spoke with me at length about the car and we keep in touch. Blackbirds brother recently sold the last car from his collection at BJ, a RA IV 69 GTO 4 speed.
There were two RA II Firebirds at MCACN a couple of years ago, same owner (see pics). There is also a Mayfair Maize car in Florida that is currently being restored by a friend of mine (see pic). I also know of another RA II Firebird currently being restored. I believe all these cars are 4 speeds. There was also a RA Firebird at Norwalk last year (white with red interior) that was fully restored (see pic). |
