![]() My kids are hooked on old cars and trucks from frequent visits to the drag strip, car shows, and big Smokey burnouts in my GTO. Start em young. Hopefully you haven’t lost him to the tuner crowd already.

. I was wrapping up the first restoration on my 1966 GTO at 21, so I get what you are saying. However, as the dad of three kids who all either played or are playing college sports, their upbringing was a lot different than mine.Norwalk somehow keeps getting bigger and better! My son came away wanting to add another car to our Pure Stock stable. So, we are on the hunt for a 1968 Firebird to build into a Pure Stock car to join my 1966 GTO that is currently being gone through to hopefully be ready for this years race. Norwalk Pontiac Nationals has to be the top event of its type in the entire country.

I know. That's why I put the smiley face on there. All in good fun.
My oldest wishes he would have gotten involved earlier. He is my "car guy" so far.

Did Hemiside run or was it just on display?
Not seeing much for racing results here.

I did see Hemicide make 2 passes. It sounded like they might have had some tuning issues at high RPM's? It did make full runs however. Does anyone know how Ed Page and Raven did at this event? I spent about half of Saturday on the race side of the track looking at all the cars and equipment over there, talking to everyone who wasn't busy thrashing on their cars. I could not find the Raven pit set-up. The place is so huge, I guess it's possible to miss someone your specifically looking for. Even with a custom EZ up. Shame on me. I did run into GTO George working on his blown 74 GTO. He was fighting an oil leak most of the event. Despite a somewhat abrasive persona before he was banished from the forum, he is a "racers, racer", and great to talk to in person.

![]() Back when I was younger I wish I would’ve paid more attention to getting ready for my life as an adult. Somehow I made it through okay and I’m happy I still have the fond memories of being able to build fast cars and race them both on the track and on the street in my teens and early twenties.

A few more. The photos of the show/swap area were taken after 5 PM on Saturday. Some of the show cars had already left the field.
