With those chambers anything over 13 to 1 and your shooting your self in the foot, your right foot.
I somehow lost over a 100 cid on this deal! It's okay, I'll run the thing on e85.

I think you may have cross-posted steve

Yeah, he was close, although it did make above his high side estimate. He said 550-570 initially.

They unloaded it from the dyno, cleaned it back up and put my moto-feet on it for transport. It's now safely home in my garage.

I'm waiting on some remflex header gaskets and a new set of flextplate bolts, then I can start getting it back in the car.

Steve is referring to my post here: https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...8&postcount=87

Which I’m wondering why it’s even being brought back into the discussion at this juncture.

And by the way congrats on your build and the stellar numbers, keep both hands on the wheel!

Compression came out to right at 10.3:1. We were shooting for closer to 10.5:1, but without going to a 4.25' stroke and only over-boring another 10 thousandths, I just had too much chamber.

What ignition timing during dyno pull?

Power was pretty flat between 34-36 degrees, but absolute best power was at 36. Because they were using my billet 2 wire, it was locked out. I may see the torque come up below 4000 rpm when I put an ignition curve in it.

Based on how it performance with locked out timing though, I'll probably pile it in pretty aggressively. I'm thinking in the car I'll start with around 34 degrees all in around 2800 rpm and ramp in another 2 degrees to 6000 rpm.

To say that I am thrilled is an understatement! She sounds wicked and puts up numbers to match.

They forgot to paint the water pump, so they'll do that as soon as the engine comes off the dyno today and I'll pick it up likely tomorrow.

Nice going.....I don't have much documentation yet, but your results are sounding similar to mine, which just finished dyno time on Monday...pretty sure we decided we're running very similar cams/lobes, so maybe not all that surprising.....Congrats on the numbers...!

That car should go into the high 10's at 3600 pounds. now lets guess his 1/4 mile times.

10.95 @ 123 mph

That made more than I would have expected. Sure would like to see the BSFC numbers though, oddly those weren't provided on the dyno sheet you were given. Any mention of it while you were there?

Get it in the car already

I'm one step behind you, I'm off to the dyno this morning.

Yes I recall we had similar build parameters. Nice numbers!

The car is more of a pro-touring type build, but those numbers would be fantastic! These are of course corrected numbers and I'm at a mile high. Plus Bandimere Speedway has sadly shut down, so I won't be getting any numbers any time soon.

Based on what the car ran previously, with a slick and a 60' somewhere around 1.8 or so I think it would go deep into the 12's, possibly a very high 11 at altitude.

Yeah I kind of wondered about that as well. Perhaps because they were using a shop carb. I don't know. I wasn't overly worried about it and to be honest I was so excited with the power numbers and the oil pressure it was making that I didn't even ask.

Sounds like a lot of people are finishing up builds right now. Always good to see that!

Yeah that's a nice oil pressure curve. Did they adjust the oil level in the pan? Take any out?
I just ask as sometimes the level on the stick tends to bit a little much and cause oil pressure to drop some at higher rpm, and engines usually pick up some HP by taking oil out and cleaning up the oil pressure curve.

Yeah the build I'm on started in March of 2023 lol so it's been a year and a half for me. I'm glad to finally see the home stretch

They had six quarts of oil in the pan. It's a Nitemare Performance pan, so I think 6 qrts is slightly shy of full when you take into account the filter.

No windage tray as the pan has a mesh screen that acts as a windage device. The pump is also the Nitemare Performance pro pump with their gun drilled/hardened driveshaft.

Thanks, me too! Engine is going back in tomorrow. I put a fresh coat of engine black on the pulleys and brackets.

I need to get those on the engine today, phase the distributor and change a couple fittings for use with the FiTech. Should have it fired tomorrow afternoon.

The saga is at an end. Over the past several weeks I've put the engine in, made some wiring and fuel plumbing changes and finally fired it up in the car this past weekend.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1O3aU7SHp88

Happy to report everything is kosher in the car. Hot idle oil temps are just below 40psi and the engine runs at 180 degrees, right on the thermostat. I have some fuel and transmission tuning to do, but now it's all about putting some miles on the car while the weather is still decent here in Colorado.

First up, is a much needed bath and detail.

Thanks to everyone that followed along on this journey and offered support and wisdom, it has been greatly appreciated!
