The Red/White fender - with blue roof - is Sox & Martin .
Sponsored by Gate City Mercury in a 1964 Comet .
I think that was the only year they ran a Ford product.

What is it ?
I was going by the Gate City M_____ visible on fender

Greensboro had Gate City Mercury / Gate City Lincoln - one roof dealership

and

Gate City Chrysler / Gate City Plymouth - one roof dealership

They were within a block or two in downtown Greensboro.

It is this 66 Barracuda
They just used the name Gate City Motors as a blanket term I guess.

Found this early picture of the 64 Comet

Brinsfield Mercury must have sold out to Gate City right after that time.
Brinsfield was the Datsun dealership in Greensboro for a while.
Out on the west end of town.

I was born in Nov 63
Can remember we bought a 66 Chrysler new for my mom from Gate City Chrysler/Plymouth.

My uncle raced with/against Ronnie in the 60's and early 70's.

I didn't know Brinsfield was ever the Mercury dealer in GSO.
His Datsun dealership folded in the mid to late 70's before Datsun became acceptable cars.
Rice Toyota (great name) dealer was able to hold on through that period and Toyotas got more popular , then went viral.

Datsun Honda Toyota cars were just jokes around here until about 1976 or so.
