On mine that is actually just an apartment above the garage - the house is next to it. It does look like two houses.
The walls in the shop addition are about 18’ tall I think? The HOA made me match the height of the original structure but in the end I’m glad they did. The GN is a very different car than the GTO’s we are used to. Quiet, tame and then explodes with power! My friend got that car brand new when he turned 16. I can’t imagine that! I bought it from him about 8 years ago before the prices went crazy on these. |

Our last house had space, buried utilities, and a lot of buried irrigation pipe. Power went from garage to shed underground. That line also fed our mission-critical irrigation pump.
When the city brought in a fiber company, they used guided boring for installation. They managed to knick the power line to the shed and I suspect at least 20% of every irrigation line in the neighborhood. The power line opened up a year later and I had to eat the replacement. Net: try to make EVERY buried pipe, conduit, drain, and line traceable. The utility companies won't mark irrigation, nor anything they cannot detect. But you can. Don't save a nickel by using direct buried cable for anything. Run the conduit. You WILL be digging/trenching/boring around your shop later... |

Made some more progress on the shop. Put in another 35 hours of time and have gotten this far. About 2/3 of all the hard stuff is done. Trying to get it
dried -in before the rainy season.

Been fighting the wind trying to finish this. Texas this time of year is very windy during the daytime as you know. We switched gears and got some nice LED headlamps and have been working at night when the wind dies down. We worked until 11PM on Friday night last. Neighbors were cool and did not call the cops. Should have it done in two weeks unless the rain does not stop. Doors are going to be picked up this Saturday unless it is raining. Not easy handling 17 ft sheets for the roof. lost two with a small gust and they went flying and were crumpled on the fence like pieces of paper. The trim will take some time as they are one piece special ordered stuff. no seams. with the exception of the gutters. . No one makes a 50 ft seamless gutter for metal building.
