What's the max lift your heads can accomodate?

1967 Firechicken, 499", Edl heads, 262/[email protected]" duration and 0.627"/0.643 lift SR cam, 3.90 gear, 28" tire, 3550#. [email protected] mph with a 1.45 60'. Still WAY under the rollbar rule.

im not sure.

If this is not the cam I need I will send it back,get another one or whatever it takes. I was told to get a B suffix and I thought thats what i was getting. Not much on line about a S suffix but it looks like for a small block chevy,,,extreme 4x4 family or something like that. Whatever that means.

The engine shop did check,,, they said they might have to take just a little off the valve guide so the retainer doesn’t hit the seals for a .577 lift but it will work. It had .530 lift with the previous hft and cleared. On the head flow #’s the exhaust had peak flow at .600 lift. The intake only showed to .550 lift. The cam I will be using has .580 on the intake, .575 on the exhaust using my 1.60 rockers.
