Very interesting engine!
I'd say it was a replacement short block for a 64 GTO? car. I think that a dealer would/should stamp the replacement engine with the original EUN/code? That engine is actually a Nov 1965 block which they were probably making engines for 1966 model year. Looks like that eun would be around a 03D car in 1964.

Your car a Fremont or Pontiac built GTO?
On the BHC (if Fremont/Pontiac), to the left of the VIN is the engine code and a set of numbers. What are those numbers? Or post the BHC if you want.

Late April to Early May on a Pontiac Plant car in that time zone.
By your invoice date of May 12 I think your current 1966 block is someone's attempt at a restamp. Or an SR from a different car back when. It's not factory stamping at all . But possibly haphazard stamped by a dealer tech. Outstanding pedigree ! Black - TriPower M20 3.90 Congrats ! |
