When I removed the ignition cylinder from old column to switch over, I had to depress lock plate and bent the heck out of that lock plate. Retainer was very hard to get off. FYI for anyone needs to do this. Hope to not mess up anything on new one. |

The lock plate tools are like $15:
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Perfo...Tool,2051.html I used to gorilla them, since it wasn't often I did them, but then, I realized it was more often than not. I think you can just push the horn contact over to the other side and it will reveal the access groove, but it's been a while since I've done it... .

I bought the tool on Amazon for $14, but didn’t want to risk messing up the pretty new column. Thought I’d try what you guys said. With wife working the screwdriver I was just barely able to turn the plate just enough to get the screw in. Thank you!
