You don't have to explain anything about the C5, my 01 was the first new car I bought. I was in my 20s and I have no regrets. Got it into the mid 11s with bolt ons, it was a lot of fun. I helped out at a friend's LS tuner shop (Cartek Performance Engineering), so I got to work on a lot of fun stuff. Probably why I'm sick of LS stuff now. I think a mild 400 with 3.90 + gears, a T56 behind it or a 6spd auto would run right with a lot of newer cars.
