Hello everyone, I've had this car for a year or so. I just thought I'd share some of the work I've done. More recent pictures soon to come.

First the front end rebuild.

EnergyFX: the honda has a Prelude engine with a 75 shot. It is not your everyday "ricer" lol... it looks stock from the outside

Since those picturese I have put on 28" Kumhos Ecsta STX tires and purchased a Holley "freflo" air cleaner. It hopefully will flow more air. The zip tires are very permanent, the car hasn't seen the road much since those pictures. I hope to have a radiator bracket set up in a couple days, hopefully so I can run it at the tack this Friday.

Not very So far the best I have got is a 8.5 in the 1/8 with street tires (2.2 60'). Most recent 1/4 track trip I was plagued with fuel pump gremlins and never got a good run. I need to stop chasing power and get some slicks. All I keep doing is compounding my traction issues. I'm actualy slower than 8.5 now because I have to let off the throttle before bumping 2nd or it'll break traction and never lock back up... this is after riding the break off the line just to keep from spinning on the launch.

The pics in the sig are old... here is a more recent photo. She's been lowered and has new wheels and tires. Right... I have traction issues so I go and lower my car But damn it looks better!

My learning experience with temporary Radiator holddown was with 2 thin aluminum strips 3/4" wide @ original top bracket locations.
You won't think of Wind Force against a Large Flat surface,until about 50 mph,Squeese the gas Just a little!!,Hear the noise,recognize it,Turn OFF KEY,Smell new antifreeze,engine winds down,you get to the side of the road, open the hood,(elapsed time 18-25 secconds), to see the SAME Fanblade,just ate my Brand new $195.00 Radiator.....only 40 miles from home!
That feeling in my stomach... "Priceless"
Moral: carry needle nose pliers,& water in the antifreeze bottle.pinch the holes closed in the Radiator,(its already screwed up) watchfor refill sources all the way home.
How Much was That ALUM. Radiator????

I went to lowes to find something to make a "bracket" out of, but the stuff I got was too soft/maliable. So what do most people do that have oversized radiators? Whats the best way to secure this thing?

That is one good looking ride brother... but I have to say, with that signature "VTEC this" you and I may have to throw down hahahah! How bout it? If I win you change the signature? Hahaha! It's all in good fun!

I like that Matte paint too, kindof "rat" style.

There's a couple here in the area that I can't touch... but they both have like $15-20k in their motors. The back window has white letters saying "VTEC THIS" as well... but the imports that can beat me are well beyond their days of VTEC, Type R, SSi,... whatever.

Remember... I am 8.5 in the 1/8 TRACTION LIMITED... if you want the deed to my sig then I promise you I will buy, steal, borrow, find, or make some drag slicks before we "throw down". The car has sub-frame connectors and line-locks alreay on it... so she's more than ready to respond to the stickey stuff.

What are you puffing your chest with anyways? Unlike alot of muscle car buffs, I admire many of the Imports that are done right... it all the rediculous sticker/coffee can econo boxes that drive me up the wall. My previous neighbor had a new Evo. That car was really nice... too bad he couldn't catch me on the track with it.

BTW here is one more shot of her along side a buddy's 70 GTO. Both are HO cars.

My son installed a dual electric fan in his '79 Z28 (455 powered) and after a few months I noticed he had tie strapped it to the aluminum radiator. They actually held up well, but I made him mount it right.

Here is a couple of shots of the Mark VIII electric fan. It fits the 1st generation Firebirds very well and flows between 4000-4500 cfm. Solved my cooling needs.

I'd really like to try that fan set up!! as I have found out I REALLY need some fan shrouds. I don't really have the experience or the means to fabricate my own. Where do you find fans like that? Is your radiator a 31 x 19 like mine?

They flow 2500 cfm each, so it's a good flowing fan set up, BUT I'm probably going to sell the set up and just get one with a shroud. If i had the means to make the shroud, it CERTAINLY cool the radiator down a LOT more.
