Dude, I've been following you hoping there was more in mine. Your car flat out hauls. I may have a little more hardware than you. After today I think it will go 9.70's with some tweeking. I literally drove it on the trailer and ran it just like it is in street shape and never touch it at the track.

That's great Steve! I agree looking at your mph, 9.70's are there yet.

Congrats Steve!

Sounds like the kind of car you could possibly do drag week with.

Bruce, I look at some of their times and think maybe I have a shot at drag week in one of the categories. This car drives great just "not your average bear" when it comes to gas mileage, but, I guess non of those cars are gas misers.

I want to do drag week if I ever get to point I can.

My last car was almost 2 sec slower but I always drove the 40+ miles to track one way. Raced often for 10 years and only needed trailered home once.(starter blew up as I was about to head to 3rd round late on a Sunday) Was easier to call a friend at that point than get a starter and change it in the dark (by time I got one plus dirt etc.). Another time wished I had trailered was when a collector flange broke off(on drivers side no less) when I left track. When it broke exhaust tipped and shortly after the reducer caught something and bent pipe enough that I couldnt rig anything to even partially reconnect. Had no idea how many little hills the road home had till then(and seemed more up hill than down). Plus the heat coming up from floor and it was a hot muggy day. Radio sounded like crap, traffic was slow and seemed I stopped at every light.

Drag Week is a competition but most that do it don't go with the promise of winning any awards. That's not really what it's about. 1st three places in each class get a plaque and the winner in each class gets a jacket. It's more about finishing the week and having a blast on a 1000+ mile road trip with hundreds of the best people (and cars) you'll ever meet! Any awards are just icing on the cake!

My wife and I have been in the last 3 years and can't wait for next year. I've never placed or won any awards of any kind but have finished every year along with hitting my personal goals during the week.

It would be great to have another fast Pontiac on Drag Week!

Oh, I understand the concept and thrill. I'm going to seriously consider it. (Admittedly, I do have a competitive side to me).
