I saw some pics on Facebook this morning of some heads from Dci that are prototypes on the way to be machined with casting numbers 48,614 and 722,I didn't see the ports on the 614's and 722's but the 48's were Dport,he will have more info on his pod cast Wednesday night

That would actually be a nice market niche to fill. The Small Block Chevy crowd gets to enjoy reproduction factory heads with stock flow characteristics and chamber size, only difference being made in aluminum in order to benefit from weight savings and better thermal conductivity. Would be nice for people that want to do milder builds but don't want to fork out the $$$ for higher performance heads.

From his post in FB these are stock appearing externally but with improvements inside, I'll be watching his podcast weds
His latest post says 45 degree seats and shooting for 300 +cfm

It's about damn time. I'm on board for a set. I've been saying for years they need to make copies of 614's/722's in aluminum that mimic the appearance of the factory offerings.

Actually they are drastically different in flow than the factory stuff. I have a set. Trick Flow has been making copies of hump heads for years, and doing a really good job at it. Paint them orange and they fool everyone.

Out of the box as cast they flow between 260-270 cfm and are only a 170cc head, worlds better than a factory hump head that if you're lucky might flow 200-210 cfm, and that's a big valve version.

Trick Flow also incorporates a more modern heart shaped chamber. They are super nice pieces for a stealth build

Hoping these new RAIV aluminum heads follow the same path, if so I'll be picking up a set.

If they're similarly priced to Edelbrock or Kauffman heads, I'm going with either of those two.

Well considering the alternative. Buying real versions are $4000 plus and then I have to spend another $1500 at the machine shop, only to have them flow stock or near stock numbers. No thanks.

So if they come in cheaper than that I consider it a deal.

The only other alternative is Eddy heads and then spending considerable hours making them stealthy, machining fake freeze plugs and all that really fun stuff I'd probably have as much in them as a set of stock heads I mentioned considering my time on top of that.

So yeah if these RAIV copies come in around the $3000 to $3500 mark and flow 300+ cfm out of the box then it's a deal by my standards. They absolutely don't have to be cheaper than eddy heads to gain my interest. I'll buy a set asap and start the stealth build I've had planned for a couple years now.

I would imagine they’re going to be priced similarly to competing aluminum aftermarket heads with similar specs.

And why would anyone expect them to be significantly less expensive than the current offerings from Kaufmann or Edelbrock?

Here you have yet another choice of a high flowing modernized combustion chamber aluminum head with a different look that might be more in line with what many buyers with hot street cars would prefer.

I’ve never owned Kaufman or E heads. Can you bolt factory brackets to them?
I assume these will accommodate factory brackets for guys who want to keep it stock looking under the hood. (Like me)

I know on High Ports one of the 3 bolt holes for the alternator bracket was deleted. I found a way around it for my situation where I kept the factory alternator mount.
